Like Magdalene, we are called and empowered by the Charism to contemplate Christ Crucified, who on the cross was stripped of everything except of His great love, and to communicate this love to everyone, seeking only the glory of the Lord and the salvation of every human being, through a life of consecration, of communion and of humble service.
The original inspiration "inspice et fac secundum exemplar", is the unchangeable norm of life for us in our exercise of charity. Attentive to the love which shines forth from the Cross, we learn to love in the way the Lord Jesus loves, that is, in humility and radical detachment, seeking to animate every action of ours with Jesus' Spirit, "a spirit of charity, gentleness, meekness and humility; a spirit of zeal and fortitude; a most amiable, most generous and most patient spirit."
Our holy Mother Foundress exhorted us to love Our Lady of Sorrows to fulfill "a duty of justice, truth and gratitude." We look upon her as our one and only Mother, honouring her as the "Mother of Charity at the foot of the Cross".
